Very Cool Vampire Tattoo

Vampire Tattoo

When it comes to vampire tattoos, there is a lot of similarity because of the obvious subject matter, which includes fangs and blood dripping down them.

There's also the fang bites, which can look pretty realistic as well.

But this tattoo of a vampire in flight is really well done, and it's definitely unique.

I really like how he has to stretch out his arms to get the desire effect.

Weird Art | Woman with mouth held open

Weird Art

This is a strange photo of a woman having her mouth forcibly held open.

How about that for the way you dentist may work. "Don't be a wimp, just sit there and let me rip that tooth out. It'll hurt me more than it hurts you."

I think you'd be so focused on the stretching of you mouth and cheeks you wouldn't pay attention to the dentist about to extract your tooth.

Anyway, pretty extreme photo.

Tattoos | Killer Hamster Tattoo

Tattoos

This was a pretty cool tattoo, and one I haven't seen before. How about this killer hamster holding a severed finger looking about to chew on it?

Now who would have thought of getting that inked on them?

I guess it shows you can't even trust a hamster these days.

Tattoos | Michael Jackson Tattoos

Tattoos

Tattoos of Michael Jackson have been appearing online, and some of them are in honor of him, and others aren't.

Like everything with Michael Jackson, the tattoos bearing him image are contradictions.

You have the usual images of Jackson at different stages of his life and career, but also tattoos of the dark side of him; specifically the pedophile related themes.

But the tattoo I included of Jackson showing him molesting a child is wrong to me. Not because it is expressing something that could have been a evil side of Jackson, but because of inking it on your arm in the first place.

Creepy Michael Jackson Tattoo

Who puts an image of a pedophile on their arm in the act of performing their dark deed? That's just wrong.

Anyway, here are a couple Michael Jackson tattoos.

Thandi Newton Wearing Nothing But Rose Tattoo

Tattoos

Ok. I had to find some excuse to show off gorgeous Thandi Newton, so having a photo of her with her rose tattoo is as good a reason as any.

Thandi's the type that will cause you to forget about tattoos pretty quickly, as you can see from this photo.

If you're not familiar with her, she played the lead female role in Mission Impossible II, and also starred in Crash and The Pursuit of Happyness, while playing a good part in the Chronicles of Riddick.

Yann Travaille's Unique Tattoo Designs

Tattoos

New tattoo designs from Yann Travaille has your body used more as a doodle pad than a work of art, as his style resembles a child taking his pencil or crayons and applying is limited craft on your body.

What's interesting about this, is in many cases it works, and will probably earn Yann Travaille his place in the difficult-to-break-into tattoo design artist field, which has become very cluttered.

What's interesting about Travaille is he bodly throws away most of the tattoo traditions, and has completely developed his own style. It think this is going to earn him accolades, but inspire people to have fun and truly enjoy a one of a kind tattoo on their body.

He also has a aptly named website dubbed "Your Meat is Mine," where you can check out a bunch of his work.

The only caveat is he does his work in Montreal, so you'd have to go there if his style appeals to you. Either way, it's a fun and interesting new design style that will find a place in the crowded tattoo design market.

Maybe we could call his style doodle-toos!

Bizarre Celebrations | Evil Clowns

Evil Clowns

I'll never think of clowns the same again, and you can forget that birthday party I was going to have them show up at.

I guess there's nothing sacred anymore, and everything is going to be tainted according to an artists conception or desire to provoke.

But really, these are just a little scary and creepy. Picture having them come to a little kids birthday party or other celebration: "shut up kid and just enjoy the show!"

Maybe we'll do Tinkerbell this year. Oh wait, I just saw ... never mind. I never liked celebrations anyhow, and I'll pass on it until I recover.

50 Ideas for a Twilight Vampire Wedding

Twilight Vampire Wedding

Some Twilight fans are going all the way, as they're now including the Twilight theme as part of their wedding celebrations.

I don't know though, picture youself 30 years from now and explaining the reason for the fangs of you and your bridesmaids (I wonder if the groom wore fangs as well?).

Someone even went through the process of creating a video of 50 ideas to encourage and offer up ways to successfully be true to the vampire wedding theme.

By the way, did you notice the bouquets being held by the bridesmaids? Not you usual are they?

Extreme Photos from James Ostrer

Bizarre Art Trends

We've been touching on a little bit of the extreme or bizarre art theme lately, and here's another from James Ostrer, who like to photo provocative scenes like the one here with the dead ballerina hanging upside down with a rope around her ankles.

As with all strange and provocative art, I'm not always sure what the creator of the art is trying to say, other than to cut through the senses and be in your face with something that catches you off guard.

Anyway, if you like things different, you can check out his website, which even has the homepage looking a bit different and creepy.

Extreme Vein Makeup Makes Inward Outward

Bizarre art and makeup

This art or makeup from Maria Strasser's photo set named 'Terminator,' pops out at you, to say the least.

It's interesting to see the traditional use of makeup to cover the skin being reversed, and reminding us what is underneath it all.

Other than being different, I wonder about the why of this.

This is the first I've seen like this, but anatomical themes across a number of categories like tattoos and fashion has been a growing phenomenon.

Anatomical themes look like they're here to stay among certain groups of people.

A lot of people were weirded out by the latest collection of Eugenio Merin which includes lots of twisted sculptures to satisfy even the darkest tastes.

For example, you've got the Dalai Lama toting a machine gun, and Fidel Castro looking like a zombie. You've even got Krusty the clown committing suicide in these works. Osama bin Laden doing a disco dance is the scariest. Hehe.

Horror Props to Freak Out Colleagues

Horror

For the discerning horror geek, here we have the accessories to satisfy the gore lovers everywhere.

You can buy these in a set place them strategically across your desk to either remind your colleagues you're dangerous to deal with, or what is in store for all of us as the virus spreads.

These are actually made for arm rests for the power computer user.

One possible other use would be to share it with others before they get to their desks in the morning. That would be fun to see the reactions of the unaware.

Edward Cullen and Bella Swan as Barbie dolls

Vampires

I guess it had to happen, and it has: the latest Barbie dolls are Edward Cullen and Bella Swan from Twilight, or should I say Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart.

There's no doubt the young girls will snap up these latest creations from the popular vampire franchise of Stephanie Meyer.

I don't know though, Ken as the vampire boyfriend of Barbie? Somehow that doesn't really fit. But I guess Ken has been all sorts of things through the years, so why not a vampire? At least they made him with the golden eyes and unique skin tone.

Extreme Piercing | Corset Piercing on Neck

Extreme Piercing

This corset piercing on this guys' neck is a little too much for me. While I know these are usually done for the sake of a photo and then the ribbons or cords are removed, but even so, having something like that on my throat would be very uncomfortable. Talk about a tickle on your throat.

Another thing I don't like is doing the ear stretching thing. The corset piercing, while uncomfortable, in general, once removed, is pretty much gone, maybe other than small and hard to notice little marks. With the ear stretching though, that's one that will really cause permanent body modification, and the ear is right there to see at all times.

Someone doing this must be making a lifelong commitment to wearing it in their ear, as the ear would look horrible just dangling from the stretching.

Great Full Back Tiger Tattoo

Tiger Tattoo

Tiger tattoos are a challenge to have made because the form of the tiger isn't as fluid and flexible as other tattoo figures and themes.

I prefer the black and darker colors for tiger tattoos, as it brings out something in a way that the usual orange and reds just don't do.

This tigger tattoo on this man's back is on of the best I've seen. It's hard to surround tigers with extras because in most cases it just doesn't work well.

In this one though I think it's captured almost perfectly. You have the desirable tiger teeth and fierce eyes looking out of the jungle, while the moon and trees are seen in the background.

Personally, it's one of the, if not the, best tiger tattoo I've seen.

He has a show on the Discovery Channel called "The Tattoo Hunter" where it unveils the journey he took to discover the practices of the remaining tribal life on hte earth.

Extreme Piercings | Woman Pierces Face to Beyond Recognition

Extreme Piercings

A lot of people have probably seen this photo of this woman who is pierced everywhere on her face, but it never ceases to amaze me how radically she did it.

Think of a blind date and you wonder what she's going to look like, and you find this, and you still wonder what she looks like.

What I would like to see is what she looks like after she removes all the studs and objects and see if there is scarring of any type, or permanent little holes.

Imagine turning over in bed and always pressing into those things.

Assuming she takes them out every night, that alone would take a lot of time. Evidently she sleeps on her back, or has an awful lot of time to insert and remove her piercings.

Skull Exhibition at the 2009 Northern Ink Xposure Tattoo Convention

Bizarre Art

Many of us remember the skull introduced by artist Damien Hirst in 2007, and there was a hint of that displayed at the 2009 Northern Ink Xposure Tattoo Convention in Toronto, as a "Skulls" exhibition by a number of major artists was part of the show.

The skulls, which will be auctioned off during the weekend, were all custom created by the artists.

With the popularity of skull tattoos growing, and the inclusion of skulls on a variety of clothing, I wonder if some of these will also end up on a clothing line.

Vampire Book | Guillermo del Toro's "The Strain"

Vampire Book

In a recent interview, director and new author Guillermo del Toro said when he was young he used to sleep and when he awoke, he would see monsters. (You can read the entire interview here, where he also talks about the Hobbit.)

That has had a profound affect upon him, and from seeing some of his films, you know that is true. He even believes what he saw was real and not his imagination.

What's relevant at Bizarre and Weird is the release of his first book, which he co-authored with Chuck Hogan.

Here's the book description from Amazon.com

The visionary creator of the Academy Award-winning Pan's Labyrinth and a Hammett Award-winning author bring their imaginations to this bold, epic novel about a horrifying battle between man and vampire that threatens all humanity. It is the first installment in a thrilling trilogy and an extraordinary international publishing event.

The Strain

They have always been here. Vampires. In secret and in darkness. Waiting. Now their time has come.

In one week, Manhattan will be gone. In one month, the country.

In two months--the world.

A Boeing 777 arrives at JFK and is on its way across the tarmac, when it suddenly stops dead. All window shades are pulled down. All lights are out. All communication channels have gone quiet. Crews on the ground are lost for answers, but an alert goes out to the CDC. Dr. Eph Goodweather, head of their Canary project, a rapid-response team that investigates biological threats, gets the call and boards the plane. What he finds makes his blood run cold.

In a pawnshop in Spanish Harlem, a former professor and survivor of the Holocaust named Abraham Setrakian knows something is happening. And he knows the time has come, that a war is brewing . . .

So begins a battle of mammoth proportions as the vampiric virus that has infected New York begins to spill out into the streets. Eph, who is joined by Setrakian and a motley crew of fighters, must now find a way to stop the contagion and save his city--a city that includes his wife and son--before it is too late.

----

You can click through the link below to get the book, or just take a look at the first chapter of the book, which is included on the Amazon page.

Tattoos| The Ultimate Geek Tattoo

Tattoo

I loved this tattoo of the feedburner symbol inked on this guys stomach. It's the only one I've ever seen like this, and it's so geeky it's almost cool.

It just goes to show you, that in some cases the more you show your inner geek, possibly you could translate into someone with something cool to show for it. Then again, maybe not.

Now the problem is what happens if he outgrows his geekhood? Now he has the major problem of getting something that big removed.

Oh well, maybe once a geek always a geek, and it's irrelevant. Either way, I thought it was pretty unique. Pretty funny - the "feed me" words.

Comics to Film | Ghost Rider and 30 Days of Night

Included in some of the comic book characters taken from the panels to the big screen, there were some that you'll enjoy here, including the Ghost Rider and 30 Days of Night.

There has really been a breakthrough in a lot of these characters, which has been somewhat laughable in the past, because of the inability to really portray them close to who they were in the comic books or graphic novels.

You can go here to look at a large slideshow of a number of characters in side-by-side comparisons between their look in the comic books and their look on the big screen. Pretty cool!

Extreme Branding | Scarification New Tattoo?

Extreme Branding

There's a growing movement among those practicing body modification and tattooing to move towards scarification as the means of putting designs in their skin.

Among a number of people this is evidently considered a spiritual experience of some sort.

As scarification or body branding gains in popularity, it will be interesting to see the quality of branding designs which emerge, and if they'll reach the variety and quality of tattoo designs.

They definitely give a different look than tattoos.

Werewolf She-wolf Shakira Viral Campaign

Werewolf

Shakira is attempting to use the she-wolf theme to promote her new single, appropriately called - she-wolf. (I guess calling it a female werewolf wouldn't do for marketing purposes.)

In the video you see a bus in New York City traveling along when it comes upon a she-wolf bending over an attacked pedestrian.

Of course the she-wolf is a lookalike of Shakira.

The she-wolf single is rumored to be due out later in June.

With an idea that had some legs, it's too bad the video was a little too lame for me. It could have been much more graphic and intense, with a little longer focus on the she-wolf and her victim. See what you think.

Does the Bizarre, Strange, Odd And Weird Negatively Affect People?

Sometimes when people see the types of things we look at and explore at this website, they get upset and worry about whether it's affecting people in a negative way. Here's a general response I have to that.

Here at Bizarre and Weird, we get into some of the strangest, odd, bizarre and weird stories, customs, news, photos, videos and pictures there are.

No matter what walk of life people may be in, or what they like to do, there is always someone out there over the edge that takes things as extreme as you can get.

For example, whether it's piercings, tattoos, branding or body modification of any type, there are those that enjoy doing it, and there are those that aren't satisfied until they reached the absolute limits of their chosen interests.

Many times the strange and true are more extraordinary than fiction, as some practices are so far out that even some extreme people will cringe.

For example, we've shown weird, strange and extreme videos where people drop their babies 50 feet down and let them bounce off a canvass held by other locals.

We've also looked at the bizarre celebrations where people go into trances and insert objects through their mouths and out their cheeks, being strange and unusual for most of those that like to try edgy things.

Some of these shocking videos, photos and images are hard to look at for even the most hardened veteran of the curious. Like I mentioned earlier, why get into fiction, when the real world and the extraordinary practices make the odd and weird true news much more fascinating to watch and look at.

How much of this strange stuff can we take when taking in all the weird images and video? I don't know. While I occasionally take a break and get into the less bizarre world to take a break, I really don't find video and photos of extreme practices something that sticks in my head once I leave a website or stop watching it on TV.

I suppose weird, bizarre and strange websites could have a negative influence on some people, but those types probably struggle in every area of life, and need to take care of much more basic things than whether looking and reading about extreme events and practices.

Shocking images and video definitely have an impact, but it doesn't have to be a negative impact. Obviously you have to take into consideration a person's age and disposition, but most healthy people just enjoy seeing the odd and weird practices people participate in.

Once the weird or odd news is seen or read, most of us just go our way and forget about it until we want to search for and explore what is being done the next time.

Just because a website or media outlet shows some of the amazing and bizarre things going on in the world through words, images and video, doesn't mean it's for everybody, it's just showing what is really happening, and not condoning it one way or the other.

What's the difference if we see crime scene pictures or photos, or someone recreating something macabre to express themselves? At least the recreation isn't real, while the victim of a crime is.

We hear all the odd, strange, weird and bizarre quotes throughout the days that all this is bad, but again, I think showing the strange news and including strange images and weird video doesn't hurt anyone that is healthy. Those who would be negatively impacted by all this, to me, already have problems, and they're going to react in a possibly negative way no matter what comes their way in life.

So there's my two cents in the matter. Most of the time a lot of participation and involvment in the strange and bizarre, is more role playing than anything else. And as exposed here at Bizarre and Weird, there are those that take themselves way to seriously and become part of bizarre groups and celebrations that can really harm themselves or others.

Revealing that doesn't make a statement one way or the other, all it's saying is it's out there and it's real, and the weird and bizarre will always be with us, whether in the news, photos, video, or artwork. That's simply not going to go away if we pretend it's not there.

One of the more recent bizarre festival and celebration has been the zombie walk or zombie festival. One of those has started to be held annually in Madrid, Spain, and includes all the zombie accessories you need to look the part.

Great Fantasy Art of Woman Sitting On Skull with Huge Vampire Bat Behind Her

Vampire Bat

I love this type of fantasy art, and it's very unusal in that I haven't seen one quite like this before.

The gorgeous woman sitting on a skull with a vampire bat behind her is just too cool. But more than that, it's very well done.

A lot of people enjoy the mystique of the bat, and the vampire bat in particular, because there's no other genus; it's a one of a kind among bats.

The fact that vampire bats do at times suck the blood of humans makes it even more interesting.

How do you like this vampire art? In its fantasy art setting, I really appreciate the quality and the feel of it.

Tattoos | Chinese Dragon Tattoo on Man's Back

Dragon Tattoos

I really liked this Chinese dragon tattoo, specifically the black lines and ink, which I prefer in most tattoos.

Dragon tattoos are probably the most popular at this time, because of the versatility of the dragon theme, works very well with both men and women, with the lines, patterns and tattoo designs fit both body types well.

This doesn's mean I don't like the very colorful dragon tattoos, just that those like the one in the photo seem to rock way better.

I found this photo of an extremely pierce man was hilarious when taken with I spotted it a forum on finding information on "moving to, living in and life in Finland."

Bizarre Subcultures | The 'Non-human' Otherkin

Bizarre Subcultures

When investigating and looking at the Otherkin, it's a little bit hard to pinpoint specifics of who they are and what they represent. But one thing most of those that claim to be Otherkin, is that they are either not entirely human, or they aren't human at all.

Some of the things claimed by this subculture are they are trans-species, whereby somehow they were born in the wrong body.

Others make claims to being genetically different than humanity, citing things like a part of them being different than others, like how much hair on their body or different shapes of body parts than others have.

Another strange concept is they are travelers that entered into a body, and the original inhabitant or inhabitants are still there. Some believe the orginal inhabitant may have even left and others have entered to fill the vacuum.

Some of these things are attempted to be connected with incarnation, where a past incarnation has a strong impact on the present incarnation. I know, it gets weird. That's why I dubbed it a bizarre subculture.

Others calling themselves Otherkin go the vampire, angel, demon, elves, dragon and werewolf route, claiming all of these are part of a non-human existence on this earth, being lived in bodies looking humans.

It goes on and on. Much of it seems to be hyper-individual, and everyone claims to be something not human that comes in endless variations.

What do they do or represent? It doesn't seem to represent anything but to live in a fantasy world that helps them hide from the real world.

Goth | Goth Blog Showing Dressed and Sweating on a Hot Day

Goth

Talk about a targeted niche. A new website dedicated to posting on Goths wearing their heavy clothing and makeup in hot weather and then having visitors vote on the sweatiest Goth has been launched recently, and has a bunch of pictures with Goths wearing their usual clothing in the hot summer months.

While I've never thought of Goths in the hot summer months, it is interesting to see them in their extremely heavy clothing, committed to their wardrobe to the end.

Looking at a lot of them, they do seem to have things under control in general, as many don't seem to be sweating much, while others look like they feel the heat.

Interesting concept, but watching the reaction of Goths to the summer heat and how much they sweat isn't something I'm going to pursue any time soon.

But for those interested, now you can check it out whenever you want.

Creating photos that shock is of course a way of life for many people, and in this funny photo, we can see the caricature of how many people feel deep down about going to the dentist.

That's one thing about those that make these types of photos; sometimes their work borders on the meaningless, and says nothing, others, like this one, in a funny and exaggerated way, makes us laugh because it's connected to a reality all of us have felt one time or another.

I appreciate this type of art form more than that create primarily to only disgust.

One thing I like from the business side of it is the exclusiveness of being one of the girls, which obviously drives demand high, as numerous young women attempt to be one of the insiders.

Either way, it's a pretty cool experiment that seems to be working, as many young women embrace a different type of beauty which includes tattoos, piercings, and a lot of fun fashion, accessories and hair colors.

What I do like about his strategy for tattoos is he was able to put on his head a tattoo he really liked, but if he has a need to, he can grow his hair back and cover it up.

It's something a lot of people getting tattoos don't consider, and in this case he was really smart in doing that.

Anyway, a great and unusual tattoo and placement. That mohawk adds a little to it as well.

Tattoos | Eliminating or Reducing the Pain of Being Tattooed

Tattoos

There are a number of concerns people have when either deciding to have their first tattoo, or whether to add more ink to their bodies. One of those major concerns is the pain associated with the procedure.

While a lot of men and women try to make it look like enduring the pain is part of the process, that's not really too smart when you think of it.

Unless you want to feel pain, the point of getting a tattoo isn't to endure the pain to prove something, you're getting a tattoo for a much different reason, which, depending on the individual, could be any one of a number.

The question of course becomes, why endure tattoo pain when you don't have to? The answer is you don't. There are a number of tattoo products on the market you can get relief from pain, and I'll show you where the best one is in a moment.

When you're thinking about getting your first tattoo or adding more ink to your body, a major consideration is the place you're going to have it put.

While there will be pain associated with being tattooed no matter what, the intensity of that pain will be determinded for the most part by where the tattoo is being placed.

Obviously we have much more sensitive spots in our bodies than other parts, and we must remember that when being tattooed.

There's nothing macho or impressive about being tattooed in pain, and there is no reason to have to endure that.

Oh yeah, you know why many people get tattooed in that way? They're either drunk or high, and with their sense dulled, make the arbitrary decision they're going to get a tattoo.

Any respectable tattoo shop or artist shouldn't do the work when someone is that state, but unfortunately, many still do. Imagine waking up to your body having tattoos you don't even remember having done, or vaguely remember a little of it?

Back to the tattoo pain subject. The point is why go through pain when you don't have to?

When you go here for tattooing pain relief, you will be able to get your tattoo without feeling the unnecessary pain many people have endured without needing to.

Tattoos

Tattoos | Temporary Tattoos - A Tattoo Option for Those Who are Uncertain or Concerned

Tattoos

With the growing popularity of tattooing, many first timers are hesitant to take the plunge because of the many stories connected to getting inked; like the pain, mistakes, dangers, health concerns, what if you don't like it, etc.

One thing I've recommended to people is first of all to go the temporary tattoo route.

The reason why is the first thing you want to know before you ever get a tattoo is whether you want to wear one or not. How can you ever know without trying it on for size?

You could of course look at friends, acquaintances, or just through others with photos to get an idea. But when it comes down to it, being tattooed is very personal, and only you can decide whether it's right for you and gives you the look, feel and experience you were hoping for.

What is valuable about being temporarily tattooed is you can experiment with a lot of different types and looks, while putting them on different parts of your body over time. This would not only let you see how it would feel to have one permanently on your body, but see the placement you like the best, and how people respond to you.

Don't underestimate the response factor, that is definitely part of the overall experience of being tattooed, and must be taken into account when making a final decision.

Another thing you could do is try temporary tattoos on different parts of your body at the same time to see if they mesh, or if you like multiple tattoos. Some like it and some don't, and it's definitely not for everybody.

Some people even like to live a lifestyle of being temporarily tattooed, as it gives all sorts of options, like not even having one at certain events or circumstance, or being playful and overdoing it to get a reaction from friends, family and colleagues.

Either way, you can have one style tattoo on one part of your body and change it around the next time you need or want to say or show someone in a certain social situation.

So if you're thinking of going the tattoo route but aren't completely sure or want to give it a test run, temporary tattoos are definitely the way to go to see if it's something you want to do permanently.

Or you may just discover it's a lot of fun having different looks at different times, and so embrace a temporary tattoo lifestyle.

One other thing, temporary tattoos can also be used to work with existing permanent tattoos for those who don't want too much ink on their body for different reasons.

So you could use some to enhance what you have, or to just add a little more for a short time to give yourself a specific look.

Whatever your reasoning, temporary tattoos are definitely an important part of the overall industry, and you can use them in a number of circumstances and purposes without the concerns or challenges that must be faced when making permanent tattoo decisions.

Tattoos | Julia Gnuse - The Illustrated Lady

Bizarre Tattoos

When Julia Gnuse knew she could look like a monstrosity after a skin disease devastated her body into a bunch of boils and scars, she decided to take matters into her own hands and have her entire body tattooed.

Julia Gnuse was born with a disease named porphyria, in which blistering boils would emerge as a result of contact with sunlight. Those blisters produce scars, which of course can deform the body and face in unfortunate ways.

As a result of her tattooing, Gnuse is cited by the Guinness as being the woman with the most tattoos in the world, having about 95 percent of her body covered, which includes her face.

With so many tattoos, she has become known across the world as "The Illustrated Lady."

She is of course using the tattoos as a means of covering up the scarring, although they do nothing to keep the skin from continuing to react to the sun.
